Supported IPTV Devices: what your customers can watch on

Knowing this properly means you answer a buying question in seconds instead of losing the sale.

Devices and the player each one uses

Amazon Firestick & Fire TV

The most common device your customers will own. Apps install through Downloader. Works on Stick, Stick 4K, 4K Max and Cube.

Android TV & TV boxes

Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, MECOOL, Formuler and generic Android boxes. Install directly or by sideload.

Android phones & tablets

Any Android 5.0 or newer. Useful for customers who want to watch away from home.

Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)

Samsung TVs do not run Android. Customers use IBO Player, Flix IPTV or Smart IPTV with an M3U or Xtream login.

LG Smart TV (webOS)

Same as Samsung — webOS is not Android. IBO Player is the usual choice.

Apple iPhone, iPad & Apple TV

Players come from the App Store. Apple does not allow IPTV services to publish their own apps, so a general player is used.

Windows PC & laptop

A desktop player, or VLC for a quick test. Handy for customers checking a line works before setting up a TV.

MAG boxes

Stalker portal devices. The customer gives you their MAC address and you register it in the panel.

Enigma2 receivers

Zgemma, Vu+ and similar. A bouquet file is installed over the network.

The question you will be asked most: "Does it work on my Samsung TV?" The answer is yes, but not with an Android app — Samsung runs Tizen and LG runs webOS. They use IBO Player or Flix IPTV instead. Getting this right the first time saves a long back-and-forth.
