LG TVs run webOS, not Android, so the approach matches Samsung: install a player from LG's own store, then activate it on the player's website.
What you need
- An LG Smart TV running webOS 3.0 or newer
- Your M3U URL or Xtream login
- A phone or computer for activation
Step 1: Install the player
Open the LG Content Store and search for IBO Player. Smart IPTV is an alternative.
Step 2: Note the Device ID
Open the app and write down the MAC address or Device ID shown, along with any key. Keep them private.
Step 3: Add your playlist online
On a phone or computer, open the address shown in the app, enter the device ID, and add your M3U URL or Xtream login.
Step 4: Reload
Return to the TV and choose Reload. The channel list loads within a few seconds.
If something goes wrong
Not in the Content Store
Older webOS versions may not list it. An Android box is the simplest workaround.
Black screen after loading
Usually an expired or mistyped playlist. Re-check the URL on the activation site.
Remote is slow in the app
LG's Magic Remote pointer can lag in third-party apps. Use the arrow keys instead.
Questions
Is IBO Player free?
There is a trial, then a small one-off fee paid to the app's developer, not to your IPTV provider.
Can I use the same playlist on two TVs?
Each TV needs its own activation, and watching at the same time needs a plan with more than one connection.
Reseller tip: send this guide with the login, not after the customer asks. Most people who never got it working say nothing at all — they simply do not renew.
