Enigma2 receivers are the most technical device on this list. Channels arrive as a bouquet file installed over your network, not as an app.
What you need
- An Enigma2 receiver (Zgemma, Vu+, Octagon and similar)
- The receiver and a computer on the same network
- Your bouquet file or line details from your provider
Step 1: Find the receiver's IP address
On the box, go to Menu › Setup › System › Network › Device Setup. Note the IP, usually something like 192.168.1.50.
Step 2: Open the web interface
On a computer on the same network, type that IP into a browser. The receiver's own web interface opens.
Step 3: Upload the bouquet
Your provider supplies either a bouquet file or an installation command. Upload the file through the web interface, or run the command over SSH if they gave you one.
Back up first. Installing a bouquet can replace your existing channel list. Enigma2 boxes have a backup option in the menu — use it before you start.
Step 4: Reload and check
Reload the channel list from the receiver's menu, or restart the GUI. The new bouquet appears alongside your existing ones.
If something goes wrong
Cannot reach the web interface
The computer is on a different network, or the box is on Wi-Fi with a different IP. Use a cable if you can.
Channels appear but will not play
Usually the line details inside the bouquet are wrong or expired. Ask your provider for a fresh file.
Lost my original channels
That is why the backup matters. Restore it from the menu and try again.
Questions
Do I need SSH?
Not always. Many providers supply a file you can upload through the web interface instead, which is far easier.
Which image works best?
OpenATV and OpenPLi are the most common and the best supported for this.
Reseller tip: send this guide with the login, not after the customer asks. Most people who never got it working say nothing at all — they simply do not renew.
